IICLE: Planning Opportunities and Challenges with the New Illinois Directed Trust Statute

The New Illinois Directed Trust Statute amends the Illinois Trusts & Trustees Act to clarify the roles of each of the parties involved in the administration of a trust and establishes communication between the parties. In an exclusive interview with financial professionals, Pam Lucina of J.P. Morgan Private Bank and Fred Weber of The Northern Trust Company, Patrick Nugent discusses the opportunities and challenges the new statute creates for estate planners. Lucina and Weber are co-presenting the session on "Practical Considerations for Directed under the new Illinois Directed Statute" at IICLE's 56th Annual Estate Planning Short Course on April 23-24 at the Hilton Chicago and on May 2-3 at the Hilton Garden Inn Champaign/Urbana. Visit www.iicle.com/epsc13/ for more information. Additional notes about the video: ? Fred's description is too long between 2:43 and 5:39. I would edit out some of his redundant phrases like: "on the administration side" or "some of these roles are being defined." ? You could also shave off some of Patrick's opening or closing statements. He restates IICLE's mission twice?it would be great to have a shorter intro and keep his three points at the end.
