About teachem

Simply put teachem allows anyone to create a class from YouTube videos by adding time stamped flashcards and review questions.

Why did we create this?

There is a lot of video on YouTube. To give you an idea of how fast it is growing in two days of uploads it would take more than a decade to view all the video. YouTube also boasts over 700,000 educational videos in its EDU channel. From a learning standpoint we estimate there is more knowledge on YouTube than has ever been in one location in human history.

While this leads to a lot of opportunity it can also be very overwhelming.

We made creating a class on Teachem so simple it only take 30 seconds to get started. We also took it one step further than just creating a class. First you create a school. Call it the School of Entrepreneurship. Then you can create as many classes as you want in that school by adding time-stamped flashcards and review questions to the videos.

We believe teachem can do the same for teaching as blogging did for publishing. That is open it up to the masses. Unlike other online learning platforms you are not primarily creating a class for a main catalog, but instead for your own school.

Best of all, it's free.

What do we believe in at teachem?

First off, we do not like waste. For us that means wasting amazing educational videos on YouTube that get lost in its abyss and are never organized into a classroom format.

Second, we love organizing information. The simplest way to organize a video is to create time stamped flashcards that follow along with it.

Third, we obviously love learning. We created teachem for ourselves. We want to learn something new each and every day. The teachem platform allows us to do just that.

Fourth, and finally, we love simplicity.

What is FurtherEd?

We are proud to say it is our parent company. FurtherEd started as Lawline.com in 1999 and is currently the largest provider of online continuing legal education in the country. Last year it reached 1,000,000 classes viewed by close to 100,000 attorneys.

From day one Lawline.com's mission was always more expansive than providing high quality classes to attorneys. It's focus was providing learning based products and services that lead to personal growth. This bigger mission is what led to FurtherEd and now to teachem.

With teachem our goal was to take the platform we created at Lawline.com and open it up to the masses, and we can't wait to share it with you. So get started and teachem!
